Las Dunas Grand Luxury Overview
First Impressions
Pulling up to Las Dunas Grand Luxury along the coastal highway between Marbella and Estepona, you immediately understand why this five-star property has earned such high marks from guests. The setting is honestly breathtaking — perched right where the Mediterranean meets perfectly manicured grounds, with the Sierra Bermeja mountains creating a dramatic backdrop. What struck me most was how the hotel manages to feel both grand and intimate at the same time. The architecture blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, and you can hear the waves from the moment you step out of your car in the complimentary parking area.
Location & Setting
The Boladilla Baja area is actually one of those hidden gems that locals know about but tourists often miss. You’re positioned perfectly between two of the Costa del Sol’s most coveted destinations — close enough to Marbella’s glamour (about 15 minutes) but with Estepona’s authentic Spanish charm just down the road. The beachfront location here is particularly special because it’s not crowded like some of the more central spots. I mean, when couples rate the location 8.7 out of 10, they’re onto something. The coastal path that runs right past the hotel is perfect for morning walks, and you’ll often spot locals fishing from the rocks at sunrise.
The Accommodations
Each room feels like a private retreat with those floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the sea views perfectly. The design strikes this nice balance between contemporary comfort and Mediterranean warmth — think clean lines but with touches of local stone and warm wood. What I really appreciated was the attention to practical details: blackout curtains that actually work, plenty of outlets near the bed, and bathrooms with both rainfall showers and deep soaking tubs. The terraces are generous enough to actually use, not just admire, and the sound of the waves becomes this constant, soothing soundtrack to your stay.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is honestly impressive — they’ve got the full spread covered with continental options, a proper full English for those who need their morning comfort food, and solid vegetarian choices that go beyond just fruit and pastries. The dining room opens right onto the terrace, so you can take your coffee outside and watch the fishing boats heading out for the day. I found myself lingering over breakfast much longer than usual, partly because the setting is so peaceful and partly because they really know how to do proper Spanish tortilla. The local Malaga coffee they serve is excellent, and the fresh orange juice actually tastes like it was squeezed that morning.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
With an 8.4 overall rating and that standout 8.9 for location, Las Dunas Grand Luxury has clearly figured out what matters most to travelers. It’s that rare combination of being sophisticated without feeling stuffy, beachfront without being touristy, and well-located without the chaos of being right in the thick of things. The free parking alone is worth mentioning — try finding that at most coastal hotels in this part of Spain. You know what really sets this place apart though? It feels like a proper escape where you can actually relax, not just take photos for social media.

The look of the hotel is beautiful. The staff were warm, accommodating and welcoming. The place looked and sounded very peaceful. Entering the room I had a welcome note and macaroons waiting for me 🙂 Very lovely gesture.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable overlooking the sea. The toilet was huge and had all amenities available. The robes and towels were clean and soft. The bed was huge and the pillows were fluffy. It was a very comfortable mattress so I had a good night sleep. The pool was a good size. Not too big and not too small. It wasn't crowded which is very tranquil. The food I ordered was delicious.Mumgaard from United Kingdom (8/10)
The location was stunning and our room was absolutely amazing. The spa had a snow room which I had never encountered before and was fun and the staff at the spa were super helpful. The grounds of the hotel were also beautiful and when we wanted the hire bikes to explore the coastal path, the reception staff could not have been more helpful. Fabulous!

Wonderful hotel – away from the hustle and bustle of Marbella, but still easy enough to get to. Set in beautiful grounds by the beach, great spa and pool facilities and the staff were very professional and friendly.
