You’re close enough to Marbella’s beaches and nightlife (about a 10-minute drive), but far enough away that you can actually hear yourself think. The free parking on-site is honestly a godsend — anyone who’s tried to park in central Marbella during summer will appreciate this more than any fancy amenity.

The Rooms

My room faced the golf course, and I have to say, watching the early morning golfers from my balcony with coffee became a daily ritual. The space itself is well-designed without being flashy — clean lines, comfortable bed, and everything actually works (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case). The air conditioning keeps up with Andalusian summers, and the bathroom has good water pressure. What I really appreciated were the small touches — decent lighting for reading, enough outlets for all your devices, and blackout curtains that actually block out light.

The Experience

The pool area becomes the heart of the hotel during the day, and it’s where you really see why couples love this place so much. It’s not huge or over-the-top, just a peaceful spot where you can float around without kids doing cannonballs every five minutes. The sunset views from here — which obviously inspired the hotel’s name — are genuinely spectacular. I found myself timing my evenings around them, cocktail in hand, watching the sky turn those impossible shades of orange and pink over the golf course.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marbella Sunset. The apartment was modern, spacious and in a lovely area with great views (although we did hire a car, and I would recommend this due to the proximity to amenities). Lara the host was very accommodating with early check-in, late check-out to suit our flight times.
