My room was clean and comfortable — nothing fancy, but everything worked properly, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. The air conditioning actually cooled the space down (crucial in summer), and the bed was firm enough that I didn’t wake up with a backache. The bathroom was recently updated, though the shower pressure could be better. What I really liked was the little balcony — not all rooms have them, but if you can snag one, it’s perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

But sometimes you just want a solid, honest place to stay that doesn’t cost a fortune and actually delivers on the basics. The free parking alone probably saves you 20 euros a day, and being in a real neighborhood instead of a tourist zone means better prices for food and drinks.
